The Trans Derwent Swim is one of the longest running Royal Hobart Regatta events. Competitors swim the span of the Derwent River from Montagu Bay on the Eastern Shore to the Regatta Jetties on the Western Shore. The race is approximately 1.5km long and the fastest competitors swim the event in under 15 minutes. In recent years the event has become a local challenge that many sportspeople have added to their bucket list. The race also attracts entries from interstate and overseas.
