Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Parade of Power & Sail

Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Parade of Power & Sail

Sunday 13 February 2022

From 12 noon

2021 was the first time that the Parade was held on the Sunday of the Hobart Regatta weekend with over 200 boats participating. Everyone commented that it was a fabulous spectacle, both on and off the River, and should become an annual event. The Royal Hobart Regatta Association has responded and this year it is on again.

The Association is delighted to welcome Pennicott Wilderness Journeys as the sponsor. Well-known Tasmanian business man, Rob Pennicott, had no hesitation is taking on this role commenting that,  ‘In 2021 we had a Pennicott Cruise boat join the parade and everyone on board had a fabulous time’.

The Parade is an opportunity for the local boating community to celebrate the Hobart Regatta and is open to anyone with a boat. It can be either a power or a sailing vessel. As an encouragement for skippers and crew to fly bunting from their rigging, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys has donated a voucher each as the prize for the two best presented boats.

Each voucher has a value of $290 and is for two adults to enjoy either of their magnificent Bruny Island, Tasman Island or Wineglass Bay Cruises.

The Regatta Association is confident that this year’s event will again be a spectacular occasion with the Parade centred directly in front of the Regatta grounds. The M L Egeria will be stationed here for the salute.
